Description

We are looking for an Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist to join a growing media company in Washington, District of Columbia. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build your career in accounting within a dynamic and collaborative environment. You will play a vital role in managing both accounts payable and payroll processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Process high-volume vendor invoices, including matching, batching, and coding.

Set up new vendor profiles in the company's accounting system.

Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for employees across multiple states.

Reconcile payroll accounts and generate detailed reports as required.

Prepare and distribute 1099 forms for subcontractors.

Handle credit card transaction reconciliations and post related entries.

Maintain vendor records in compliance with company policies.

Assist the Controller with ad hoc accounting tasks and projects.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.

At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable invoice processing.

Minimum of 3 years handling employee payroll, preferably in a multistate environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry systems.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and vendors.

Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll platforms.

Demonstrated stable work history reflecting reliability and professionalism.
