Job Description
AECOM is hiring an Entry-Level Transportation Planner to join an exciting new training program in Orlando, FL.
This position is expected to start September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates seeking to build a strong foundation in transportation engineering/planning. As part of our Training Academy, participants will rotate through key disciplines within the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), including planning and environmental management, design, program management, construction, materials, maintenance, and traffic operations.
Throughout the program, participants will gain hands-on experience by shadowing technical experts, supporting critical project tasks, and deepening their knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Projects will vary in size and complexity, offering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Participants will contribute to the research, development, and implementation of engineering plans, cost estimates, and technical reports. You'll apply your technical skills to support project execution and evaluation, playing an active role in delivering high-impact infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities include:
Complete assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
Support the preparation and modi?cation of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
Assist in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
Assist with the administration of construction contract administration.
Perform engineering tasks in signing pavement marking, operations analysis, maintenance, and upgrade of the existing statewide communication system.
Assist teams with organization and administrative support.
Support engineering and planning teams with various tasks and duties, including but not limited to research, data collection, ?eld investigations, development, design, construction, material testing, and maintenance of projects.
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Quali?cations:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related.
Preferred Qualifications:
Has taken, or is registered to take, the Fundamentals of Engineering examination, as administered by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers, or the equivalent examination administered by another state, before appointment.

Relocation is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $25.00/hour - $33.00/hour.
