RECREATION AND BEHAVIOR HEALTH CARE PLANNER MONTANA STATE PRISON DEER LODGE, MT MISSION///-/Montana Department of Corrections is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. JOB OVERVIEW-This position is assigned to the Psychiatric Nurse under the Psychiatrist and Health Services Administrator. Provide activities-related services to inmates on the mental health caseload with the focus of services covering inmates housed on the Mental Health Treatment Unit. Provide treatment services and recreation activities using a variety of techniques to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well being of clients. Help reduce symptoms of depression, stress and anxiety, and help clients recover basic motor functions and reasoning abilities. Help clients build confidence and socialize effectively to enable greater independence and to help reduce the long-term effects of the client's mental illness. Bachelor's Degree in either Occupational Therapy, Recreation Therapy, or in the human services field. Two years of experience in an in-patient mental health setting is required. Experience working in a correctional setting is preferred. Certification as a Recreation therapist is preferred but not required.
