Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Farmington, CT (Fully Onsite)

Salary Range: Up to $25 an hour

Hours: Mon- Fri (8:00am to 5:00pm)

Reports to: Controller

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in a fast-paced construction environment. This role is responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry, but not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper coding to job cost and general ledger accounts.

Verify purchase orders, delivery receipts, and contracts to ensure proper documentation and approvals.

Manage weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.

Maintain vendor records, including W-9s, insurance certificates, and lien waivers.

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Collaborate with project managers and procurement teams to ensure accurate job costing and budget tracking.

Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reporting.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and industry regulations.

Support year-end 1099 processing and audits as needed.

Qualifications:

2+ years of accounts payable experience.

Familiarity with Accounting ERP Systems.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
