DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Psychiatric Aide, you will provide direct care using consumer-centered approaches. You will assist patients with daily living activities, assess clothing and hygiene needs, and provide nursing care. You will also respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies. This role requires effective communication to discuss p atient care decisions with teams and attentive observation skills to recognize and report changes in consumer condition. In addition, you will participate in ongoing training and uphold patient care standards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), with a 30-minute lunch . You will work a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays as assigned. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
Training hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
Overtime and travel as needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program ( Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Six months of experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with mental health or physical illness or disabilities; or
Certification as a Nurse Aide or Nursing Assistant through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Legal Requirements:
A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
