Job Title: Decommission Technician (Entry Level)

Location: Data Center Environment

Experience Level: Entry Level

Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Decommission Technician to support hardware decommissioning projects within our data center. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a data center environment and is comfortable working with hardware at the rack level. When decommissioning work slows, this technician will assist with general break/fix support and hardware troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Perform decommissioning of servers, network equipment, and other hardware

Execute rack and stack operations, including hardware removal and labeling

Document decommissioned assets and update inventory systems

Assist with hardware troubleshooting and break/fix tickets as needed

Follow data center safety and operational protocols

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing IT operations

Required Skills:

Basic understanding of data center operations

Experience with rack and stack, hardware installation, and removal

Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and deployment

Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate records

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a data center environment

IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Server+, or similar) are a plus

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
