Job Description
Dakota County Technical College seeks a Math tutor, to provide tutoring and academic support services (including one-on-one and group instruction) for students enrolled in math and related courses.
Other responsibilities include:
Provide training and workshops focusing on student success and retention including D2L boot camps/orientation classroom visits, and coordinating group tutoring as needed.
Maintain records and documentation for data collection and grant reporting.
Participate in staff meetings, training opportunities and other duties as assigned
Please note this is a part-time (.25 FTE; up to 10 hours per week) seasonal position that will work only during the academic year (August-May). Anticipated start date of August 20, 2025.
Salary Range:
$21.57 - $30.13/Hour
Minimum Qualifications
Associate or higher degree in Mathematics AND 1 academic year of teaching/tutoring experience in Mathematics at the high school level or above
OR
An equivalent combination of education and work experience
Preferred Qualification
Ability to support neurodivergent learners and those navigating learning differences, mental health challenges, or disabilities in educational settings.
Ability to motivate students to perform assignments and persist in their studies.
Ability to communicate effectively with students and faculty through discussions and short demonstrations.
Organizational skills sufficient to maintain files and documentation for Perkins grant.
Knowledge of college policies and programs sufficient to answer a wide range of questions.
Physical Requirements
Maintain a stationary position for long periods of time.
