Job Description
This position is responsible for performing installation, maintain, troubleshooting and repair a variety of electrical and instrumentation equipment, electrical systems, sub-systems, circuits and controls such as motors, service equipment, generators, controllers, electrically operated valves and pumps, welding machines, electronic controls, microprocessors, transformers, services, branch circuits and other components / facilities as assigned. In some instances, responsibilities may include working on alarm systems, instrumentation, distributed control systems, communication systems, and/or PLC programming and repair related to the operational control and monitoring of water treatment for the Department of Water Resources. Independent judgment is used in accomplishing assigned tasks.
Work also includes implementing scheduled maintenance programs using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Work may involve off-hour standby, various work shifts/hours, weekends, and, occasionally, mandatory overtime.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in industrial maintenance and repair, knowledge and experience working with commercial voltages, energized circuits, drawings, diagrams, and applicable codes.
This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Gwinnett County Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Trades Technician I :
Grade A12(3) - $41,669
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above;
Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained within 12 months of employment.
Valid Driver's License from state of residency;
Trades Technician II :
Grade B21(3) - $43,238 - $56,210
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Two (2) years of trades experience
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained with 12 months of employment.
Valid Driver's License
Trades Technician III :
Grade B23(3) - $51,327 - $66,608
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Four (4) years of trades experience
Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained with 12 months of employment.
Valid Driver's License
Trades Technician IV :
Grade B31(3) - $55,721 - $72,437
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Five (5) years of progressively responsible trades experience, some of which is in a supervisory capacity:

Class A Commercial Driver's License must be obtained with 12 months of employment.
