Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Manager, Capital Systems, Ottava to be based onsite in Santa Clara, CA
This role requires a deep understanding of managing a team of capital system medical device manufacturing while being versatile and adaptable within a dynamic environment . The ideal candidate will ensure that all manufacturing operations comply with quality and safety standards while striving for continuous improvement, team/personnel development and production scale-up/ramp-up **.
Key Responsibilities:**
Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians in the design, development, and manufacturing of medical robotic systems.
Oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance with industry regulations.
Plan, execute, and monitor projects from conception to production, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
Implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet regulatory standards and specifications.
Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with FDA regulations and ISO standards relevant to medical devices.
Work closely with R&D, quality assurance, and compliance teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies into manufacturing processes.
Manage inventory and supply chain logistics to ensure the timely production of medical devices.
Address manufacturing challenges and implement process improvements to enhance productivity.
Provide training including effective learning and development for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge in robotic manufacturing.
Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations, including cost control and analysis.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field (Operations/Supply Chain Management).
2+ years of strong leadership and direct team management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, motivate and develop team members.
Proficient in project management methodologies and tools, ensuring timely delivery of manufacturing process improvement projects.
Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), FDA regulations, and ISO standards applicable to medical devices.
Ability to identify issues quickly and develop effective strategies for resolution.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to cross functional/core teams, stakeholders and sponsors.
Strong data analytical skills for tracking personnel and production performance metrics including assembly defects
Strong critical thinking skills for production and capacity planning by evaluating production processes and systems.
Experience in budget management and cost analysis to maintain efficient operation.
Understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations and practices within in a manufacturing environment.
Commitment to continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, to enhance manufacturing processes.
Preferred
In-depth understanding of robotics, automation systems, and medical device capital system manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with production lifecycle tools (Agile PLM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (Siemens), Enterprise Resource Planning systems (SAP), quality management systems (ETQ NC, ETQ CAPA, ETQ Audit), equipment management tools (CERDAAC, Maximo), digital tools for dashboard readouts (Excel Pivot Charts, Power BI)
Familiarity with Smart Manufacturing Excellence Standards (SIRI 4.0)

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
114,000- 197,800.00
