Mantech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Engineer to join our team at JBSA San Antonio, TX. This position is a hybrid role with 3 days a week on site.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java applications and services within the HRSTS ecosystem.
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other developers to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
Work effectively in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
5+ years of professional experience in Java development
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns
Knowledge of software development best practices, including testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD)
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Experience with RESTful web services and API development
Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, JPA)
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Experience with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular)
Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA Security+ certification
Experience with HR systems or enterprise software development
Experience with software development planning tools, such as Jira
AWS certification
Experience working with the Air Force or Space Force
Clearance Requirements:
US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance suitability
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
