Job Summary
An SDET 4 in our VIPER Linear Test team is responsible for validating QAM and IP Linear video product quality. This role involves creating and executing test automation code to reduce manual testing efforts and enhance code quality and consistency. You will develop and maintain automation that validates end-to-end linear video quality and performance using modern tools and programming languages.
You'll collaborate with software engineers to write efficient automation code following best practices and coding standards. Responsibilities include executing automated tests, generating comprehensive reports for stakeholders, and maintaining complex automation scripts. Peer reviews and continuous improvement are key aspects of this role.

Core Responsibilities
Create simple queries for database validation and write automated scripts for SOAP and RESTful APIs.
Create automated testing documentation, including test plans and reports.
Execute automated test scripts and share the results with stakeholders and teammates.
Perform manual testing as needed in areas not yet automated.
Drive technical impact and strategy for a medium sized platform/area.
Use sound judgement and autonomy in making decisions.
Experience with AI in testing and automation is a plus.

Requirements
5-7 years of experience in test automation or software quality engineering preferred, but we're open to strong candidates with less experience who demonstrate the right skills and mindset
Proficiency in test automation, including API testing (SOAP/REST) and SQL-based database validation
Proficiency with modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Go) and version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
Comfortable collaborating across teams and communicating technical findings clearly
Ability to mentor others and contribute to technical strategy and decision-making
Familiarity with video technologies (QAM/IP Linear) and AI in testing is a plus, but not required
Experience with Agile practices such as Scrum, backlog grooming, and sprint planning
