Job Summary
University of Utah Health is seeking a talented and experienced Marketing Specialist with a strong background in the healthcare industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote our health care services, products, and programs. This role requires understanding of marketing best practice in healthcare, industry trends, and strong collaboration and relationship management skills.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Conduct in-depth market research to understand the needs, preferences, and behaviors of target audiences for assigned portfolio of services, products, and programs.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans and strategies tailored to the goals of the clinical enterprise.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including others in Marketing + Communications, clinical and administrative leaders, internal stakeholders, and external partners-to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with priorities and goals.
Research, create and manage campaigns and projects utilizing a broad set of skills and knowledge in digital/web marketing, messaging/content development, traditional advertising, events, and more.
Ensure all deliverables and activities comply with relevant health care regulations and industry standards, such as HIPAA and AKS .
Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, providing regular reports and recommendations for optimization.
Collaborate with health care professionals to communicate accurately and effectively with our target audience.
Developing and executing various media strategies, creating, and sharing engaging content, optimizing company pages, moderating user-generated content, analyzing social data, and collaborating with other departments to manage reputation and coordinate actions.
Oversee and develop the creation of marketing materials, including brochures, content, websites, blog posts, videos, and other promotional content.
Manage marketing projects end-to-end-overseeing timelines, scope, and quality-while tracking budgets and allocating resources to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Maintain and enhance the organization's brand reputation and presence in the market.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree English, Journalism, Communications, or related field plus 3 years of related experience, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with a variety of computer software; project management and strong interpersonal skills; ability to work both individually and in a team setting.
Some areas may require additional experience with specific computer systems and may require skills in interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation.
Master's degree in a related field may be preferred.

Proficiency in marketing tools and platforms preferred, including those for social media management, web and customer analytics, customer relationship management ( CRM ), content management system ( CMS ), and creative production.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
