We're seeking an Assembly Engineer to join our dynamic Operations team! In this role, you'll play a critical role in optimizing assembly processes through continuous improvement and driving major initiatives, including the introduction of new products, technologies, and capital investments. As part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, you'll play a key role in supporting and collaborating with your co-workers in Technology, Purchasing, and throughout Operations including Production, Logistics, and Quality. You'll approach your work with a holistic, system-thinking mindset that focuses on both customer satisfaction and business success. Guided by the three core principles of the Volvo CE philosophy-Flow, Continuous Improvement, and Perform & Develop-you will help drive positive change across our organization.
Main Responsibilities and Key Skills
Your Impact:
New Product Launch:
Design, optimize, and implement assembly line processes and workflows, focusing on efficiency, safety, and quality.
Specify and coordinate installation, and validation of assembly tools, fixtures, and equipment
Provide feedback to engineering teams to refine designs for production readiness.
Apply lean manufacturing principles to identify and eliminate waste during the launch phase, enhancing production efficiency and reducing costs for new assembly lines.
Project Management:
Lead projects from inception to completion.
Collaborate with diverse teams to ensure timely and successful project outcomes.
Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to meet goals.
Continuous Improvement:
Lead or participate in Kaizen events or other continuous improvement activities to eliminate waste, streamline operations, and enhance productivity
Work closely with the team to develop new strategies for improvement.
Problem Solving:
Identify assembly-related challenges and resolve them quickly with creative, thoughtful solutions.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to find the best possible solutions.
Use your innovative thinking to overcome obstacles.
Industry 4.0:
Embrace and implement cutting-edge technologies in assembly.
Leverage smart systems and automation to enhance our processes.
Stay informed about industry trends and technological innovations.

Required knowledge, experience, education :
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred 3+ years of experience in manufacturing processes within the heavy equipment industry.
Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
Success Factors :

Interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Organized, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to lead and inspire others.
