Qualifications you'll bring:
Medical Degree (MD/DO)with an active, unrestricted medical license.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in medical management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably within a health insurance or managed care organization.
Deep expertise in utilization management, care transitions, and quality improvement programs.
Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare regulations, including NCQA, URAC, CMS, and state-specific requirements.
Proven track record of developing and implementing clinical policies, protocols, and evidence-based care guidelines.
Strong aptitude for data-driven decision-making, with experience leveraging analytics to improve utilization, quality, and cost outcomes.
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a focus on driving engagement, accountability, and results.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and with external stakeholders.
Familiarity with advanced medical management software and emerging technologies in healthcare innovation.

Your key responsibilities:
As the VP, Medical Affairs, you will:
Strategic Leadership
Provide visionary leadership to the Medical Management team, aligning efforts with the company's mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
Develop and execute comprehensive medical strategies that enhance utilization management, care management, transitions of care, and quality improvement programs.
Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, offering insights and recommendations on medical management trends and best practices.
Utilization Management
Oversee and refine the utilization management process to ensure the appropriate, cost-effective use of medical resources while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
Evaluate clinical programs and protocols to identify opportunities for reducing unnecessary and low-value healthcare utilization without compromising quality.
Collaborate with data analytics teams to monitor utilization trends, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
Transitions of Care
Lead initiatives that improve transitions of care, ensuring seamless care coordination across different settings (e.g., hospital to home, skilled nursing facilities, or outpatient care).
Partner with internal teams and external providers to develop protocols that reduce readmission rates and improve care continuity.
Design and evaluate programs that support members in navigating complex healthcare journeys, focusing on patient-centric solutions.
Quality and Regulatory Oversight
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality of care, patient safety, and clinical outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement by fostering innovation and accountability within the Medical Management team.
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with the sales team to support business development efforts by providing medical expertise and insights into clinical programs that align with client needs.
Partner with the network management team to ensure alignment of clinical strategies with provider relationships and contracting initiatives.
Oversee clinical delegated vendor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of care.
Provide oversight of the credentialing process, ensuring timely and accurate credentialing of healthcare providers in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Actively participate in internal and external committees, contributing to organizational decision-making and representing the company in discussions with key stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain productive relationships with healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, payors, and internal departments to drive alignment and collaboration.
Represent the organization at industry conferences, forums, and external engagements to showcase thought leadership and strengthen the company's reputation.
Team Development and Financial Management
Mentor and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary medical affairs team, fostering an environment of professional growth and collaboration.
Oversee departmental budgeting and resource allocation to meet financial objectives while maintaining operational excellence.
Contribute to our humble pursuit of excellence by performing various responsibilities that may arise, reflecting our collective goal of enhancing healthcare delivery and being the difference for the customer.
