Duties Description This position resides on the Storage Administration Team in the Bureau of Hardware Platforms Bureau within the Chief Information Office.- Participate in the implementation and technical support, including installation, modification, and maintenance, of specialized storage hardware and software related to enterprise storage infrastructure and data protection requirements. - Monitor and evaluate storage and data protection systems' performance in relation to customer requirements and service level agreements. - Resolve customer requests, e.g., storage allocation, data protection deliverables such as backups or restores. - Keep management advised of unit activities and emerging issues. - Provide scheduled on-call support. - Review on-call support issues logs. - Troubleshoot and resolve storage or data protection issues as reported through ServiceNow. - Supervise technical staff. - Create team assignments, set work priorities, and help prepare realistic time estimates. - Assist staff in addressing technical and functional issues. - Participate in developing and preparing employee Performance Evaluation assessments and provide performance feedback at frequent intervals. - Participate in the development, organization, and scheduling of training activities for staff and new hires. - Ensure timesheet, resource reporting, and ServiceNow queues are current. - Create documentation and procedures for new and existing processes. - Modify existing documentation as needed.

Non-Competitive Qualifications for appointment under the NY HELPS Program: For appointment to an Information Technology Specialist 3 (SG-23), you must have: 1. Five years of professional experience in the following computer related areas: network, server, storage, and systems management; telecommunications, IT customer support and training; computer installation, diagnosis, and repair; technical writing; computer security; knowledge management; database administration, design, and management; internet/intranet development, design, and maintenance; information technology project management; design and development of geographic information systems or computer aided drafting applications; computer programming; business/systems analysis; program design; or program testing.OR2. A bachelor's degree in any field including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science and two years of experience; or a bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field and three years of experience; or an associate degree with 15 semester credit hours in a computer science field and four years of experience.
