Description We are looking for a skilled Family Law Paralegal to join our team in Miami, Florida, on a Contract-to-Permanent basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting attorneys by preparing legal documents, conducting research, and maintaining effective communication with clients. Your contributions will ensure the smooth management of case files and court filings while assisting with various aspects of trial preparation.
Responsibilities:
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, subpoenas, motions, and affidavits, under attorney supervision.
Conduct thorough legal research and create detailed summaries to support case development.
Organize and maintain case filing systems to ensure easy access to all relevant documents.
Assist attorneys in trial preparation by coordinating exhibits, witnesses, and other essential materials.
Facilitate communication between clients and attorneys by conducting interviews and gathering pertinent information.
Manage administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, coordinating with process servers, and handling e-filing.
Draft legal correspondence and letters tailored to individual case requirements.
Support attorneys in probate, guardianship, adoption, and estate planning cases.
Ensure compliance with court deadlines and filing procedures.
Collaborate on drafting pretrial orders and other legal briefs. Requirements - A minimum of three years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm setting, specializing in legal services under attorney supervision.
Completion of a paralegal certification program or advanced paralegal education; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Proficiency in case management software and familiarity with e-filing systems.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple cases effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and client interactions.
Knowledge of family law practices, including probate, guardianship, and estate planning.
Ability to conduct interviews and gather detailed information relevant to legal cases.
Experience in preparing trial exhibits and coordinating with witnesses.
