The Job:
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be part of our Tools and Outdoor team working as a hybrid in applied technology around charging and battery management systems. Design and test proto@types for implementation in future SBD cordless products.
Key Responsibilities:
Analog and digital circuit design and component selection
Schematic capture and BOM management using Altium or similar ECAD software
Printed circuit board (PCB) layout using Altium or similar ECAD software
Soldering, PCB assembly and rework
Simulation of electronic circuits and analysis in software such as LTspice
Understanding of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART, RS232, etc.)
Knowledge of lithium-ion batteries and battery management systems (BMS)
Knowledge of switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) in DC-DC and AC-DC applications
MATLAB Simulink or similar tools for modeling and simulating battery systems
Experience with battery testers for cycle life and performance studies
Establishing standard operating procedures for new tests & processes
The Person:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
3+ years or equivalent experience in electronics design and development
Embedded programming in C/C++ (register-level) experience
Experience with hands-on testing and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, dataloggers (DAQ), etc...

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is 70,300.00 - 126,500.00 USD Annual per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
