Group Leader Sand Molding

Summary/Objective: Fills and vibrates molds during sand packing process. Fulfills duties and responsibilities of own job description and lead activities of assigned personnel.Job ResponsibilitiesChecks weights of sand, catalyst and binders and reports discrepancies fromspecifications to supervisorUsing Pacemaster machine, fills and vibrates molds while manually packing sandStrikes off excess sandUses rollover machine or manually strips pattern when sand has hardenedInspects mold for flaking sand, broken parts, etc. and condition of patternMay assist Plaster Molders loading molds into ovensPerforms routine machine maintenanceCompletes and/or maintains required reports and recordsRecommends new or revised work practices and observes employees to ensure compliance with current standards and expected output.Inspects equipment and recommends repairs or preventative maintenance to ensure performance and minimum downtime.Provides hands-on instruction and training.Informs department manager of major employee problems that require his/her attention and the disposition of resolved minor problems.Provides feedback to department manager/supervisor on how employees are performing, safety issues etc.Issues daily tasks to be conducted by group members as directed through the Department Manager/Supervisor.Ensures that group members within the group leader's span of control are complying with assigned tasks.Supports, communicates and enforces company objectives, policies, and procedures with particular emphasis on safety and health and develops and maintains high morale.Verifies production counts completed with the job traveler requirements for the specificConducts quality inspection of own work as it is being produced/completed.Meets quality and quantity standards for the position.Proactively supports the ISO process approach to quality management and the Syteline MIS system.Adheres to all safety policies, work rules, and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment and practices good housekeeping.Maintains regular on time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.Maintains a positive professional approach with all internal and external controls.Applies classroom and on the job post training information, knowledge, skills, and abilities consistently in a quality-oriented manner (wherein the KSAs are part of the jobs tasks, duties and other tasks as requested).Performs other tasks as directed.Educational, Experience Based, and Skill QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to lift up to and including 50 pds. as needed.AA/EEO StatementArmstrong Mold Corporation is committed to equal opportunity, to providing a work environment that is free from unlawful discrimination and will not discriminate with regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status.
