Lead Data & AI Architect, North America
PURPOSE:
The Data & Analytics team at Bayer Consumer Health focuses on bringing digital transformation and innovation by creating best in class analytical solutions enabling data-driven decision making and performance optimization for Bayer Consumer Health organization.
You will be part of the data & analytics organization and are responsible for designing the data and solution architecture for data & analytics products made for our North America Stakeholders. You partner with business stakeholders, data scientists, ML/Ops engineers, data architects and analytics leads as well as implementation partners/vendors or internal developers & engineers to build data- and/or AI solutions. You collect functional and non-functional requirements and ensure the architecture complies with our technology stack and that proper dev/ops processes are followed and implemented. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Work closely with NA business stakeholders, data scientists, full stack engineers, data architects, and product managers to define project scope and deliverables;
Assess and translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical concepts in alignment with business objectives and user needs considering robustness, scalability, re-usability, cost efficiency, performance & security & data privacy requirements;
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Data & AI technology;
Collaborate closely with the cloud platform team to continuously enhance the technology stack of our global & local cloud-based data, analytics and AI platforms;
Produce comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and user manuals;
Steer external providers or internal engineers, guide them as architect, provide cost and time estimations, challenge vendor costs and assure quality delivery of implementations & proper handover to support;
Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards while working closely with data stewards, governance councils, and business units to ensure alignment and compliance;
Ensure data quality and that data is accurate, complete, consistent, and timely, while maintaining metadata repositories and promoting metadata standards across the organization;
The preferred location for this role is Whippany, NJ. Relocation assistance may be offered for this role.

WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;
Significant working experience in the field of data engineering and architecture;
Mastery of AWS Data Stack & Snowflake;
Profound understanding of data management practices, including data governance, data quality & data preprocessing, and descriptive analytics architecture;
Architectural understanding of descriptive analytics solutions as well as AI solutions and AI-based applications;
Excellent data knowledge (e.g. financial data (COPA), SD, market data from Profitero, IQVIA, Nielson, IRI or similar vendors, sell-in/sell-out, digital channel data; retailer data, warehouse & transportation data) as well as knowhow of necessary business process (e.g. marketing & commercial, order to cash & supply chain, etc.);
Professional experience in steering IT providers and software vendors;
Good knowledge of the GitHub ecosystem including the core VCS, GitHub Actions for CI/CD and working with tickets/issues and pull requests;
Basic understanding of ML/Ops practices;
Problem solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable business judgement. Interpersonal and communication skills, active listening, consulting, challenging, presentation skills also essential;
Fluent in English, both written & spoken, intercultural awareness and willingness to travel;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5-8 years of working experience in the field of data engineering/architecture, ideally in CPG industry;
Practical experience with Databricks and Azure Data, AI application development technology stack and SQL/Python;
Knowhow in PowerBI/Tableau is a plus.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $130,072 - $195,109.?
