Description We are partnering with a renowned client located in New London, CT, seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. The position is a contract-to-permanent role, providing the chance for long-term career advancement based on performance. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Assist in month-end and year-end closings, including account reconciliations and variance analysis. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and related documentation. Support audits by providing requested data and documentation. Perform other related duties to support the finance and accounting department. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) is a plus. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
