Job Summary: The Optical Assembly Technician at TOPTICA Photonics, Inc plays a crucial part in the fabrication, assembly, testing and repair of optical devices, ensuring high-quality standards and extraordinary precision in all tasks. This positions expertise will contribute to delivering exceptional optical solutions to our customers. Key job responsibilities:

Assembles, aligns and tests lenses, components and systems. Follow all established manufacturing processes and procedures for assembly and testing of components. Identifies technical problems related to sub-assemblies and optical component production. Measures opto-mechanical lens parameters in accordance procedures list and reporting data in an approved format. Tests, evaluates, repairs, aligns & disposition of product and or test equipment. Records data and writes test reports in an approved format. Repair or rework existing assemblies that do not meet testing standards. Sets up and calibrates lab equipment and test fixtures. Familiarize oneself with customer requirements, test setups and fixtures. Documents information and transfers this knowledge to future test set-ups. Works with customers both internal and external in the accomplishment of project goals. Maintenance of laboratory files, drawings and data in accordance with ISO requirements. Interfaces with all other groups within the company and effectively communicates information necessary to support lab activities. Learns current and future procedures as required and be responsive to training. Other duties as assigned.

Required skills: Knowledge of optical components such as lenses, prisms, and mirrors. Ability to use hand tools and testing equipment for assembly and repair tasks. Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and documentation.

Education and training requirements: 2+ years of hands-on experience in optical fabrication, assembly, and testing. Strong understanding of optical principles, materials, and fabrication techniques. Proficiency in using optical measuring instruments such as interferometers, spectrometers, and microscopes.
