Software Engineer 5

Our Client, a Retail Pharmacy company, is looking for a Software Engineer 5 for their Deerfield, IL/Hybrid location. Responsibilities:

Applying best practices in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), you will identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Effective communication with end users, executives, program managers, and engineers is crucial.

The role will encompass both Cloud Runway Engineering and Cloud Capacity Engineering functions, where you will help define processes and actively participate in capacity planning and cloud onboarding analysis and design.

Responsibilities include driving Cloud Runway tasks and conducting Cloud Engineering reviews.

Assist Platform and Product teams with proof of concepts and evaluations to solve challenges or improve processes.

Additionally, you will work with Business Product teams to understand their designs as they move to the cloud or modify their applications, considering long-term infrastructure state drift.

Collaboration with our cloud engineering, security, and compliance teams is essential to advise on the best design considerations.

Bring a wide range of cloud skills (CI/CD and IaC experience), acting as both a knowledgeable software engineer and expert in cloud.

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Extensive experience with Azure and other cloud platforms.

Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and application design.

Proficiency in DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Experience in designing and implementing cloud integration processes.

Ability to collaborate effectively with internal customers and various engineering, operations, and architectural teams.

Strong knowledge of full-stack development.

Expertise in identifying and mitigating security risks in cloud environments.

Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards.

Excellent communication skills for interacting with end users, executives, program managers, and engineers.

Ability to conduct cloud engineering and design reviews and drive Cloud Runway tasks.

Experience in assisting with proof of concepts and evaluations for platform and product teams.

Ability to understand and adapt business product designs for cloud environments.

Strong collaboration skills with cloud engineering, security, and compliance teams.

Proficiency in CI/CD tools and practices.

Experience in capacity planning and cloud onboarding analysis and design.

Solid infrastructure understanding of Azure

Software Development background - wide-level so that they know how to ask the right questions when working with various teams, what @type of application design should be placed onto what environment
