Scope of Job
Collaborates with educators to create lifelike medical simulation productions so that learners may practice their lifesaving skills and behaviors.
Description of Duties
Manages the day-to-day operation and setups of complex high-fidelity medical simulators and multimedia equipment and supplies for learners, ranging from high school students, community healthcare partners (e.g., paramedics, Border Patrol agents, etc.), to practicing physicians.
Integrates, maintains and operates the simulation computer and audio/video technology, including the use of digital video cameras, projectors, audio/video mixers, editing software, and graphic design software.
Provides faculty and student instruction on use of simulators, equipment and other technology.
Troubleshoots malfunctions and provides technical support for all simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance and repair of patient simulators (software and hardware) and related multimedia peripherals.
Transforms medical case scenarios into realistic simulated learning environments through software programming.
Monitors inventory for disposable supplies and pharmacy supplies.
Coordinates supply orders and assesses course needs.
Researches and recommends emerging technologies and tools for use in classroom, online and simulation center settings.
Maintains the operational integrity of the simulation center.
Maintains the simulation center as a clean, safe, and optimal learning environment with properly functioning equipment.
Conducts tours and assists with duties within the daily operation of the simulation hospital.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Science, Instructional Design, or a related field from an accredited university.

One (1) year of experience operating and maintaining complex medical simulators, multimedia, and/or audio visual equipment.

Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel and weekend work is required.

Excellent communication, computer, organizational skills, and problem solving abilities required. Must be able to effectively collaborate with subject matter experts on educational projects. Must be able to integrate and acquire a basic level of proficiency in the healthcare field. Educational experience is preferred, such as tutoring or classroom teaching at the secondary or post-secondary level.
