Description We are looking for a meticulous and organized Staff Accountant to join our team in Wixom, Michigan. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for growth while contributing to a wide range of accounting and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will excel in managing manual processes, demonstrate proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software, and possess strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Process biweekly payroll for employees using Paychex and ensure compliance with payroll policies.

Administer employee benefits, including insurance and 401(k) contributions, while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Handle vendor invoices manually within Sage 50, ensuring proper entry and management.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision and efficiency.

Reconcile accounts and assist in month-end and year-end financial close activities.

Oversee order entry and fulfillment processes, ensuring all orders are accurately processed and delivered on time.

Collaborate with various departments to address and resolve order management issues.

Monitor adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements for accounting procedures.

Provide financial insights to improve operational efficiency and support decision-making processes.

Assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned. Requirements - Demonstrated experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.

Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software is required.

Familiarity with Paychex payroll system or similar tools is highly preferred.

Strong knowledge of benefits administration, including insurance and 401(k) programs.

Skilled in managing invoices and maintaining vendor relationships effectively.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle manual accounting processes.

Solid organizational and analytical abilities with a problem-solving mindset.

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with pivot tables.
