Position: Production Set-Up (Tempering) - Multiple OpeningsResponsible for overseeing the repair, installation, adjustment, calibration, and maintenance of glass making machinery as well as troubleshooting any defects or functional issues. This position operates and makes appropriate adjustments to the glass making machinery, performs quality control of machine operation while attending to any machine breakdowns, and implements Quality and Productivity tools and procedures. Specific duties will include: Producing first-quality ware at or above standard yield by troubleshooting defects, reducing downtime, and minimizing held ware; Communicating necessary repairs to required departments with a repair list, in addition to keeping assigned equipment up to a 5S standard; Performing machine job changes and reviewing and reporting job change performance; Reviewing machinery and the log book at the commencement of each shift, providing detailed technical instructions to operators; Reviewing and checking quality and operations throughout the shift, verifying documentation completed by operators; Reviewing the work of operators, providing advice and training as needed; Recommending the shutdown of machinery for equipment changes and troubleshooting; Notifying the shift foreman of any quality control issues during the shift, working to get the production line back to producing first quality items; Ensuring that employees comply with all safety, quality, quantity, and efficiency standards on the assigned machine; Collecting, reviewing, and recording results to management; Directing the adjustment of equipment to meet established production goals, maintaining a thorough knowledge of all processes, equipment, and procedures on the assigned machine; Overseeing troubleshooting, and reporting any process or equipment problems in order to resolve issues in the most effective and timely manner; Ensuring all documentation of set-ups, maintenance, shut down procedures, and set-up procedures are current and being practiced on a day to day basis, carefully adhering to all quality control and safety guidelines; and, Overseeing Tempering equipment maintenance including performing routine maintenance or equipment evaluations to determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.Position requires 5 years related tempering line operations experience. Must also have 36 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Complete machine job changes and report on their performance. 2) Responsible for producing first quality ware at or above standard yield by troubleshooting defects, reducing downtime, minimizing held ware, and reviewing and checking the quality of the glassware. 3) Maintaining assigned equipment up to a 5S standard and communicating necessary repairs to required departments with a repair list. 4) Directing the adjustment of equipment to meet established production goals. Employer will accept experience gained concurrently. Salary: $54,392 to $74,392/year.
