Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Operations and Marketing Coordinator to support our Client, Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT), on high-profile public transportation programs, including CTrides ,CTrail Hartford Line ,CTrail Shore Line East , and CTfastrak .
This role is uniquely positioned at the intersection of operations and marketing. You'll play a key role in developing and managing rail schedules and customer-facing communications, while also supporting brand strategy, digital content, social media, and outreach campaigns. You'll work closely with CTDOT and the AECOM project team to ensure operational accuracy and clear, timely communication with the public.
The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Serve as the primary lead on the rail schedule development process for CTrail Hartford Line and Shore Line East, coordinating with CTDOT and rail operators.
Learn and utilize new technology platforms.
Develop and execute internal and external communications, including web content, email alerts, printed collateral, signage, and passenger notices.
Utilize project management and organizational skills, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Manage customer-facing communications during service changes, disruptions, and schedule adjustments.
Work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Act as a liaison between the project team and CTDOT on special projects, helping align operational goals with public communications.
Contribute to brand management efforts across multiple programs, ensuring consistent tone, style, and messaging.
Support and help manage social media strategy and execution across multiple accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn), including content development and monitoring.
Collaborate on marketing campaigns, promotions, and events to support program awareness and ridership growth.
Recommend and implement improvements to communication and outreach strategies based on customer feedback and performance data.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education in
Experience in operations, marketing, communications, or a related position.
Experience using digital tools and systems for scheduling, content management, reporting, and collaboration.
Experience updating and managing websites, including uploading content, editing pages, and ensuring accessibility and accuracy.
Previous experience copyediting, and proofreading
Professional experience with social media platforms, trends, and tools for effective engagement and reporting.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, and Windows OS.
Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Transportation, or related field preferred.
Experience working with public agencies or transportation programs.
Experience with Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar email platforms.
Experience with Google Suite and Google Analytics.
Experience developing or contributing to marketing plans and campaign strategies.
Experience with schedule planning, data interpretation, and customer service principles.
Additional Information
Comfortable with occasional physical tasks such as setting up event materials (lifting under 30 lbs).

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $66,000.00 - $81,000.00.
