This position serves our partners at the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The MNIT DPS team provides technical support to an agency dedicated to prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, enforcement, and education. The team manages a large number of applications to serve 15 diverse public safety divisions located across Minnesota.
As an Operations Support/Cloud Engineer, you will support current and future MNIT DPS cloud initiatives in Azure, AWS and GCP environments. You will work within the MNIT DPS Operations Support team in the transformation of MNIT Services cloud (private/public/hybrid) environments. This position will have an active role in developing and transforming the way we deliver and upgrade MNIT's cloud environments with upgraded tools, automation, and techniques based on technology best practices and the most up to date security standards. This role will take on an ever-changing part to analyze, assess, design and implement the next evolution of the cloud environments. Position will work with MNIT DPS peers and Enterprise teams to follow Enterprise processes for current and future cloud initiatives.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 445 Minnesota St, St Paul, Minnesota three (3) days per week, with the opportunity to work from a telework location on other days.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience providing technical support in a hybrid environment.
Experience must include:
Working with Linux/Windows operation systems.
Working knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud service.
Experience with scripting and general programming.
Knowledge of IaC/Orchestration
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master's degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor's degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate's degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Comfortable making technical decisions with limited information
Cloud IAM experience managing role based access
Experience writing and troubleshooting Python code
Experience writing and troubleshooting PowerShell Scripts
Troubleshooting cloud based application issues
