About this Job
The Office of Management & Finance was established to provide administrative services to all budget units of the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Public Safety Services. It is the mission of the Office of Management & Finance to provide effective support services in an efficient, expeditious, and professional manner to all budget units within Public Safety Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been at the supervisory level or above:
Eight years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus five years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus five years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus five years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Assists in the administration of all accounting and procurement functions across eight (8) Department of Public Safety (DPS) agencies and four (4) non-DPS agencies.
Manages all aspects of daily financial monitoring to ensure compliance with state policies and sound fiscal practices.
Oversees the preparation, analysis, and development of complex financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Provides fiscal direction, oversight, and compliance monitoring for the State of Louisiana Supplemental Pay Program benefiting Municipal Police Officers, Marshals, Firemen, Constables, and Justices of the Peace.
Serves as the primary assistant to the Chief Financial Officer, supporting high-level financial planning, policy implementation, and operational decision-making.
