The Opportunity
Reporting to the Ally Recovery Operations Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the performance and governance of Legal Service Providers (LSPs) and fourth-party attorney firms within Deficiency Recovery. The position will lead a dedicated team and manage all aspects of the Legal Recovery process, including onboarding, training, quality assurance, compliance monitoring, complaint resolution, performance reporting, and business review presentations.
This leader will play a key role in developing and executing strategies to drive cost efficiency, operational effectiveness, and profitability across the LSP network. The position also ensures timely legal filings and performance optimization in alignment with Ally's recovery objectives.
The Work Itself
Be the face of Ally to our Legal Service Provider Vendor network
Applies knowledge of enterprise goals, business environment, and functional needs to design and develop strategic plans.
Coordinate with in-house counsel and other key partners to facilitate legal work in an efficient and timely manner.
Coordinate with Legal Service Provider and clients to monitor the progress of legal actions and ensure timely resolution
Partner cross-functionally to ensure legal and procedural compliance across all recovery operations
Ensure timely and accurate legal filings and take corrective actions as needed
Review legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper use of legal terminology.
Lead the Business Unit in consistency, guidance and direction in matters concerning the interpretation and application of Ally BCP policies, standards, best practices and business continuity planning software, tools and priorities.
Hold Vendors accountable to applicable laws and regulations associated with the Third Party Recovery / collection practice.
Lead any compliance/cost issues related to supplier
Lead in developing/ driving /refining appropriate metrics to measure supplier performance
Lead any supplier due diligence, performance management, market shift and / or termination
Adhere to standard cadence of On-site visits to suppliers as needed / requested to ensure compliance as well as performance reviews / quality standards and trends
Ensure compliance with implementation of a formal Business Recovery Testing schedule to ensure that specific objectives are meet aligning with the requirements defined in the Ally BCP Policy.
Lead creating, managing and communicating the Corporate Business Continuity Program (BCP) components / Business Resumption Plans; Business Impact Assessments; Testing; and input to the Emergency Response Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans to be executed by the NAO Business Units to follow in the event of an emergency or significant business disruption.
The Skills You Bring
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree preferred
1-2 + years experience in the legal industry i.e.: attorney office, paralegal experience
1- 2 + years experience in Supplier Management experience
1 year of leadership experience required
High level of written and oral communication skills
Effectively manages sensitive and complex issues that impact Ally.
Progressive experience in developing staffing plans and managing budget
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills, strong analytical skills
Negotiation/conflict resolution skills
Must be an independent worker with strong time management skills
PowerPoint Presentation skills; ability to translate complex data into simple audience- friendly visuals
Proficiency in importing/exporting data from Excel to PowerPoint seamlessly
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; formulas, functions, report building
Able to travel overnight (25% +/-)
Preferred
1-2 + years experience in the Collections and/or Financial industries preferred and/or specific experience as a supervisor or leader preferred
Identify waste (using Six Sigma principles: customer focus, data-driven decision making, process focus, proactive improvement, waste reduction, etc.)
Project / Process Management framework knowledge and application is a preferred

An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
