Director of Finance

Description We are looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to join our team in Saint Bonifacius, Minnesota. This role offers the opportunity to lead financial operations for a higher education nonprofit, managing budgets, financial reporting, and grant administration while collaborating closely with organizational leadership. Responsibilities:

Oversee and direct financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure organizational goals are met.

Manage the month-end close process to deliver accurate financial statements and insights.

Develop and maintain effective budget processes, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

Lead cash flow forecasting to optimize financial resources and ensure sustainability.

Administer grant accounting and compliance for foundation, government, and federal grants.

Collaborate with organizational leadership to align financial strategies with institutional goals.

Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering growth and development.

Ensure adherence to financial regulations and best practices in all accounting processes.

Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.

Maintain relationships with external auditors and stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability. Requirements - Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting leadership roles.

Proven expertise in managing annual budgets and month-end close processes.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting and cash flow forecasting.

Experience with grant accounting and administration, including government and foundation grants.

Familiarity with federal grant compliance and regulations.

Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

Effective communication and leadership abilities to collaborate across teams.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
