ASSISTANT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) MANAGER \ The Assistant IT Manager closely works with the IT Manager and the GATRA team to ensure that systems and networks are secure, updated, and compliant with industry standards. The Assistant IT Manager provides desktop support for over 70 users and works with the IT Manager to maintain accurate documentation, track asset life cycles, provide reporting to department managers, and maintain effective communication to all end users and managers. \ \ The Assistant IT Manager will be responsible for occasional after-hours emergencies requiring either remote or on-site assistance, and occasional travel to our satellite facilities in Mansfield, Attleboro and Wareham. There will be occasional scheduled after-hours projects including server updates, equipment moves, and software installs. \ Primary Responsibilities: - Desktop/remote worker support (via RMM or onsite) - Perform server updates and patching for 20 virtual servers in a VxRail environment - Assist users with 3rd party software and systems - Create and maintain MS365 and local domain accounts - Provide occasional support for Mitel phone system - Assist the IT Manager with spam, phishing, and endpoint protection monitoring, implementation and reporting - Assist with training staff on new software and hardware systems - Complete daily/weekly punch-lists for IT tasks - Assist with creating and scheduling cyber security training modules for the organization - Assist with configuring network components including firewalls, Meraki switches, AP?s, VPN and FTP - Work closely with the IT Manager with the goals of providing timely and accurate information to managers, maintaining uptime for all users, and keeping systems and data secure. - Interact with all staff in a professional, courteous manner Position Requirements: - Associate\'s degree or equivalent training in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field - 2-5 years of experience working in IT operations - Strong communication, critical thinking and decision-making skills and ability to prioritize - Working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems - Experience with RMM tools, VMs, and firewalls preferred - Familiarity with state and federal IT compliance requirements preferred Physical Demands/Conditions: - This position requires extensive use of computer equipment. Activities such as bending, stooping, squatting and lifting are essential to the job.
