POSITION SUMMARY
The Practice Manager is responsible for managing the daily administrative and service operations, while maintaining excellent customer service and high standards of quality. The Practice Manager maintains effective and efficient health center operations and achievement of financial targets by managing scheduling ensuring full capacity management and productivity and cost containment by managing spending on office and medical supplies consistent with budget. Manages all patient and staff scheduling including off site dental services. Consistent with our organizational commitment, the Practice Manager will work from a whole person health philosophy integrating physical, mental and social well-being to help people achieve their optimum health.
Salary: $77,000
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of three years progressively responsible experience in a healthcare services setting including experience in healthcare office practice operations and billing is preferred, with progressively responsible practice management experience. Two years of supervisory experience that includes supervision of employees and operational office management is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with computerized scheduling, billing, health record systems and patient portals. Experience in interpreting and compliance with federal, state and local regulations and laws. Displays strong analytical skills and ability to organize and take action.
Flexible and adaptive to a changing and growing environment. Demonstrated ability to rapidly improve process performance. Proficient in MS Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate and create solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains oversight of the day to day administrative operations of the health center site to include all staff schedules (work and patient appointment).
Oversees the process of patient registration, payment collection, triage, appointment scheduling, and checkouts. Participates in interdepartmental meeting to facilitate communication and a seamless access experience for clients.
Establishes and maintains center culture that is consistent with Wheeler's values and demonstrates respect, cultural competency and safety that meets or exceeds patient's expectations.
Implements and assesses guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, exhibiting a high level of customer satisfaction, and modifying activities as necessary to ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained while controlling costs.
Coordinates operations and activities to ensure efficiency and quality while adhering to policies and procedures and monitors for effective compliance.
Understands and effectively interprets and applies all relevant licenses, accreditations and federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
Ensures workflows and timely response for all activities required to support the physicians and nurse practitioners.
Serves and effectively communicates on teams and internal committees as health center representative including corporate health and safety and other CQI teams.
Collaborates with Supervisors and staff to develop individual and group performance goals. Reviews performance results with staff, provides, mentoring/coaching, and prepares timely annual staff performance evaluations.
Works with finance and billing to ensure all services are completed, coded and billed on a daily basis, monitoring and promptly correcting exception reports, monitoring payer and service/payer mix and clearing batch errors daily.
Assists with difficult calls or walk-in situations; educates support staff in their role regarding handling building emergencies.
Ensures adequate space is available for services and works with VP of Facilities on any environmental or facilities issues as they arise.
Arranges for the ordering of all office, medical supplies and furniture and ensures equipment is monitored and routinely tested as required. Contains spending within the health center consistent with budget.
Responsible to compile and present various reports.
Work with IT to promptly address any EHR, phone, fax issues, internet or related functions.
Schedules, organizes and conducts weekly center staff meeting and works with medical director to create a meaningful and productive agenda.
Demonstrates leadership by reinforcing positive behavior and promoting recognition through the use of effective employee evaluations, employee appreciation, effective hiring practices, and accountability.
Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
