Metro Transit'sRevenue Operationsdepartment is responsible for help customers pay fares with creative technology, easy-to-use tools and great service. We provide a secure payment environment for our customers to purchase their fares, along with encourage customers to use re-usable fare tools and we streamline our processes to reduce paper and waste.
How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:
The Fare Citation and Transit Assistant Program (TAP) will assist in managing the Fare Inspection Citation Program by managing all fare inspection citation data; assist in maintaining the citation issuing / tracking software and hardware; data analysis and citation resolution. The position will also assist in maintaining, administering and growing the TAP.
This position is based out of our Heywood office in Minneapolis and includes working out in the field such as at the Minneapolis and St Paul Service Centers and on transit various transit routes. The candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
What you would do in this job
Assist the Program Manager in maintaining the citation system hardware and software including implementation, testing, training, and ongoing system maintenance.
Assist the TRIP Department with training and implementation related to fare products, as well as other TRIP-related projects.
Support the Fare Citations Department in the preparation, mailing, and tracking of fare citations
Provide technical assistance on citation software and hardware use; troubleshoot and respond to problems and fare inspection team requests.
Provides backup and support for the TAP program, including the distribution of promotional materials, event setup, and participating in off-site public meetings and community events.
Make recommendations for improvements to the citation system include hardware, software, policies and procedures, training, procurement and meeting established goals and objectives.
Support Revenue Operations managers and supervisors with projects and initiatives.
Prepares reports and statistics based on information compiled from various sources and determines report format and elements.
Develop, analyze and distribute accurate reports to stakeholders.
Adhere to all data privacy requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations, state statutes and Council policies and procedures.
Work with vendors to purchase necessary equipment and supplies; manage P-Card and P-Card purchases; processes expense reports, time sheets and other internal documents.
Orders and maintains necessary office supplies.
Participate in outreach functions to assist the program manager in promoting equity throughout the program both internally and externally.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Any of the following combinations of experience in office administration involving record/data management involving sensitive information, report writing, and customer relations/customer service and completed degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Office Administration , or related field:
High school diploma/GED with four (4) years of experience
Associate degree with two (2) years of experience
Bachelor's degree or higher.
License Requirements:
Current valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per Metro Transit standards.
What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):
Knowledge of Metro Transit fare policies including fare structure and fares available to low income, unbanked and underbanked customers.
Knowledge of project management principles.
Ability to perform under limited supervision recognizing when assistance or guidance is required to set priorities or redirect workload.
Experience working with diverse communities and workforces.
Ability to manage customer service caseloads.
What knowledge, skills and abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:
Basic knowledge of MN data practices and privacy laws and regulations.
Ability to work independently with sensitive and confidential documents and information.
Skill in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
