Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Reston, Virginia. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to oversee and manage financial operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance in accounting practices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in analyzing financial records, maintaining ledgers, and verifying transactions.

Responsibilities:

Perform detailed analysis of financial records and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are properly recorded.

Prepare and post journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.

Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of account balances.

Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Utilize Microsoft Excel to create, analyze, and present financial data effectively.

Authenticate and validate accounting transactions to uphold organizational standards.

Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and systems. Requirements - Proven experience in performing bank reconciliations with precision.

Strong expertise in general ledger management and journal entries.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Experience with month-end closing processes in a corporate environment.

Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently.

Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
