Class Summary
Job Description
This position will report to the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Division. The E&C Division is divided into three distinct groups focused on the delivery of capital projects covering multiple asset classes including Facilities (vertical), Linear, and Stormwater. There are positions available in Linear and Vertical which both require experience in managing projects as well as knowledge of the design, bidding, and construction of those projects. Positions within Linear and Vertical E&C will manage projects through completion and within their scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring it meets the technical specifications established at the beginning of the project.
Essential Duties
Linear:
The Linear engineering position is responsible for managing Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects and utility relocation projects associated with local municipalities, Gwinnett County Department of Transportation (DOT) and Georgia DOT. Project @types include water distribution pipelines, gravity sewer pipelines, sewer force mains, and stormwater related facilities. Engineer positions in Linear E&C require knowledge of the permitting process associated with constructing pipelines/linear assets.
Vertical:
The Vertical engineering position is responsible for managing Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects. Project @types include new and rehabilitation projects at the water production, water reclamation, and pump station facilities. Engineer positions in Vertical E&C will interface with operations and maintenance staff, consultants, contractors, and various equipment manufacturers.
Other Job Requirements/Information
This job is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule after an initial probationary period and individual approval.
Grade
The grade for this position is 107.
Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering and
Six years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
Licensing Requirements (positions in this class require):
Valid Driver's License from state of residency.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
