JOB SUMMARY
The Materials Planner is primarily responsible for establishing the material plan for their assigned product families, developing a schedule that maximizes capacity and operational efficiency, while owning the schedule throughout the production cycle to ensure OTD.
The Materials Planner will collaborate with other Planners and cross functional disciplines such as Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Production Operations and Customer Satisfaction Team functional groups.
The Materials Planner must be experienced in analyzing data to design a schedule that optimizes labor and material investment to meet or exceed Site objectives for customer order delivery performance, inventory turn goals, and upholding our annual operations plan.
The Materials Planner must be experienced in maintaining weekly production schedules, monitoring progress to plan, and providing updates on risks along with mitigation strategy.
The Materials Planner must be open to cross-training on other product families, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and providing planning support for scheduled team absences.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Controls the planning and scheduling of materials through the manufacturing process (shop packets)
Ensures the timely release of factory and purchasing requisitions to enable successful lead times for all operational processes
Maintains master data/system record accuracy and collaborates to support cross functional data integrity
Learn, understand and apply other processes such as KanBan, Consignment or Vendor managed programs, and Lean Manufacturing logic where feasible.
Modifies plans and material schedules in support of the demand forecast while adjusting for E&O material control in the system
Resolves non-conforming conditions as relates to material supply or quality and able to manage engineering changes / ECO for new or revised products (including rework orders and Quality system process updates)
Executes required reports, collects data and inputs information into detailed reports and planning systems. Keeps records and control documents to support measurements and procedures.
Adheres to all safety rules and policies as determined by the organization
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to apply mathematical calculations and use common sense to plan and schedule replenishment orders utilizing the ERP system, as well as schedule-reschedule customer orders as required
Ability to multi-task, managing priorities and scheduled deadlines
Ability to problem solve variables and apply relative "best practices" to a situation
Strong computer skills including MS Office, with proficiency using Word and Excel spreadsheets, and standard office equipment
Ability to generate and/or maintain detailed excel spreadsheets for reports and metrics
Ability to positively interface, communicate, and partner with all levels of the organization including internal and external contacts
A self-starter who is solutions driven with the ability to produce results
Strong attention to detail
A proactive approach and continuous improvement mindset
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management, or another relevant field required.
5 years of planning and scheduling experience in an ETO manufacturing environment preferred. (May be substituted by 5+ years of other manufacturing planning or project management experience)
2 years of SAP experience with planning transactions desired.
SIOP experience preferred.
APICS certification preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence using Microsoft Office products. Ability to interact with business clients who professionally attend testing.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, areas, circumference, and volume. Competent in the use of conversions of units of measurement. Able to apply concepts of geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Working conditions are normal for an office and/or client site workshop or warehousing facility. The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet, however local and client sites can be unpredictable and associated safety equipment should be worn accordingly.

Anticipated salary range for this position: $61,700/yr to $86,420/yr. The anticipated salary range is what we believe to be the likely base salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual salary for this position will depend on relevant qualifications, skills, and experience.
