Job Title: Manufacturing Supervisor

Job Description

The Manufacturing Supervisor will coach Safety, Quality, and Productivity, ensuring objectives are met through standardized work. This role involves monitoring Andon occurrences and being the first responder as secondary support. Through Process Confirmation, you will verify that the line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts. You will support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level of the organization. Communication and recognition are key aspects of this role, as well as building Team Leader and Team Member capability. You will create a conducive work environment for the team to complete their assigned responsibilities and tasks. Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents is expected, alongside optimizing throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives. Identifying sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently will be crucial. You will support concern resolution with cross-functional teams, including the Quality department, production, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Supervise a team within the assigned department, allocate manpower, and assign jobs to meet production targets.

Provide coaching, training, problem-solving, and administer discipline when necessary.

Communicate issues during the shift, including maintenance or equipment problems, parts shortages, scrap issues, quality concerns, or rejects.

Complete end-of-shift reports for company leadership.

Understand and adhere to safety principles, safety guidelines, and Process Quality Principles.

Communicate effectively across different levels and fill in for the production manager during absences.

Lead teams and coach other supervisors as needed, interacting effectively with personnel.

Manage by walking around, being detail-oriented, and able to create Excel documents.

Create, implement, and follow through with corrective action plans, conducting walkthroughs to coach employees on areas needing improvement.

Attend and participate in daily, weekly, and bi-weekly meetings in the production manager's absence.

Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis.

Job placement flexibility with the expectation to rotate positions within the plant.

Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills, with the ability to multi-task.

Strong organizational and administrative skills.

Customer orientation with commitment to plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.

1-3 years of leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Body shop, stamping, paint, subassembly experience preferred.

Safety and Quality experience preferred.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
