Robert Half Lexington is looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join a dynamic legal team in Lexington, Kentucky. In this Contract-to-Permanent position, you will provide critical administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals, ensuring the smooth operation of the practice group (insurance defense team). Responsibilities:

Provide administrative support to a team of attorneys and paralegals, including document preparation and filing.

Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings to ensure timely communication and organization.

Handle confidential correspondence and legal documents with discretion and accuracy.

Assist in case management by organizing files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining accurate records.

Perform data entry tasks and manage legal databases to ensure information is up-to-date.

Serve as a backup for other secretaries in the practice group during absences.

Utilize legal software tools, such as Aderant and Case Management Software, to streamline tasks and processes.

Support insurance defense or medical malpractice cases, leveraging prior legal experience where applicable.

Facilitate client relations by addressing inquiries and providing exceptional service.

Collaborate with the team on administrative projects and billable work as opportunities arise.

Requirements

Proven experience as a legal secretary or in a similar administrative role within a law firm.

Familiarity with legal software tools such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and Case Management Software.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for managing files and tracking deadlines.

Proficiency in calendar management and scheduling.

Ability to handle confidential documents and correspondence with professionalism.

Effective communication skills for client relations and team collaboration.

Prior experience in insurance defense or medical malpractice is preferred but not required.
