MANUFACTURING PROGRAM ENGINEER

As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles the world expects from us. Within our plants around the world, we're constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. APD (Advanced Program & Delivery) is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants. In this role you will be able to: - Get involved early with the latest new vehicle programs - Fast paced, creative problem-solving environment - See your efforts/solutions come to fruition in Ford's new vehicles
What you'll do...
Deliver Manufacturing Delivery Quality Operating System requirements for your specific Subsystem (Electrical, Powertrain, Suspension, Exterior, Interior, Vehicle Engineering).
Collaborate with Product Development team to generate facility & tooling costs, improve quality, and reduce labor requirements.
Use virtual tools to evaluate the feasibility of new model designs for high volume assembly operations.
Write/modify/maintain process sheets and deliver updated Cycle Line Layouts.
Lead manufacturing assembly builds (DCV, TT, PP, MP1 and MP2) in Canada, Mexico & US assembly plants
Lead identification, resolution, and closure of Final Assembly Engineering feasibility issues.
Create and follow a master schedule for the design, build, and implementation of tools in your subsystem.
Lead assembly tooling installation, start-up, and commissioning at the assembly site. In addition, support tooling buyoffs @ vendor facilities.
Drive Engineering Change implementation throughout the key program milestones
Lead identification, resolution, and closure of all launch product and tooling issues.
Develop "Lessons Learned" from New Model launches and implement Prevent Reoccurrence Actions into future programs.
Support Department Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People, Morale, Environment, and Innovation (SQDCPMEI) initiatives.
Deliver cycle line layouts and work with the assembly plants to have a complete operator/equipment workstation ready for launch
Interface with cross-functional activities (Product Development, Supplier Technical Assistance, Material Planning & Logistics, New Model Programs).
You'll have...
3+ years demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a cross functional team
Ability to support launch programs on extended travel
Ability to travel including extended travel to assembly plants in US, Canada and/or Mexico required
3+ years Project Management and result-oriented mindset
3+ years with MS (Excel, Power Point, MS Project etc.)
3+ years with 3D CAD review (Teamcenter, VisMockup, CATIA, or equivalent) -
2+ years PFMEA and failure mode avoidance
Even better, you may have...
Masters Degree in Manufacturing
Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.)
Knowledge in the following Ford software systems: FEDEBOM, WERS, GSPAS/APT, Teamcenter, E2KS, AIMS, JIRA, AURORA
Automotive Manufacturing Engineering experience
Experience w/automotive assembly tooling, processes and facilities
Experience in one or more of the following automotive systems: Interior, Exterior, Chassis, Powertrain, Electrical, Water test, End of Line
Error proofingAbility to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints
Ability to work with minimal direct supervision

This position is a salary grade 1.
