The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pulmonology, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine, is pleased to announce an opportunity for a Pediatric Pulmonologist whose full-time appointment would include leadership of a city-wide initiative to prevent opioid overdoses. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual with primary interest in clinical practice and public health program administration. We are inviting applications for a position at the Associate or Professor non-tenure track level to serve as Director ofthe Baltimore Comprehensive Overdose Response to End the Epidemic (B-CORE), a city-wide, multi-disciplinary collaborative, focused on reducing overdose rates in Baltimore City. B-CORE is a unique collection of clinical addiction and emergency medicine experts, community program leaders, emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, data scientists, and public health specialists who apply their broad expertise, deep knowledge of the City of Baltimore, and existing operational infrastructure to implement a comprehensive set of services in Baltimore City that facilitates engagement and retention in treatment with medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). B-CORE employs a shared governance infrastructure that supports collective action and community engagement. The Director will work closely with the B-CORE governing body to fulfill the mission of the program and lead program implementation, including rapid scale up. The Director will advocate for policies and resource allocations that support public health interventions at the local and state level, while building strong relationships with community leaders, policymakers, health care providers, and other relevant stakeholders to promote program adoption and sustainability. The successful candidate will effectively communicate the importance of B-CORE's interventions to diverse audiences and foster collaboration, communication, and capacity building within the B-CORE team and with partner organizations.
