Position summary: Grassroots has an opening for

Staff Nurse, FTis responsible for planning, support and medical/nursing care to individuals admitted to the Crisis Stabilization Program.

LPNs - Starting rate is $36 per hour.

RNs - Flat rate of $42.00 per hour

Schedule-

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - 8:00pm - 8:00am

Qualified candidates for this position must have:

Active, unrestricted license as Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse at the bachelors degree or associate degree level.

For BSN: At least 3 years experience working with individuals with psychiatric issues.

RN or LPN with associate's degree: At least 5 years experience working with individuals with psychiatric issues.

Preferred experience working with individuals with mental health issues and substance use disorders.

Preferred experience in community setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

Admits patients to Crisis Stabilization Program and completes necessary documentation.

Assesses, plans, and provides nursing care to patients.

Consults with other behavioral health staff in creating appropriate treatment plans for clients.

Contacts the prescriber on-call to arrange for prescribing of medication and consult about medical issues.

Arranges further medical attention when necessary.

Completes COWS/CIWA and vital sign checks with patients in CSP, including pulse, blood pressure, temperature, and oxygen saturation.

Provides health education and chronic disease management.

Administers medications prescribed by CSP prescriber.

Other duties as assigned, required or needed.

Agency-wide Responsibilities

Participates in supervision, in-service training, and staff meetings.

Maintains good working relationships with co-workers and positively contributes to group morale.

Completes all administrative duties including time sheets, leave requests, etc.

Participates in special task forces, committees, or special projects as needed.

Uses appropriate channels of communication to resolve conflicts with other staff.

Interacts with staff, clients, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

Skills and Abilities

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Computer skills with various software and the internet.

Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

Knowledge of community resources.

Work Conditions include:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard.

Must be able to lift 25lbs.

Must be willing to use own vehicle for company-related transportation I.E picking up medication
