Job Summary
Gathering, preparing, analyzing and submitting Vistra's regulatory reporting requirements to support its retail gas and electric licenses. In addition will assist staff attorneys with various assignments as needed to support Vistra's retail teams.
Supports internal working groups in understanding and complying with applicable laws, rules, regulations, internal policies and internal controls.
Responsible for analyzing and performing a variety of activities to validate and/or document Vistra's compliance with all applicable wholesale and retail laws, rules and regulations.
Interaction with personnel associated with the following internal working groups; trading, information technology, retail sales, marketing, accounting and other operations functions. May also interact with personnel associated with external regulatory agencies.
Maintain regulatory document management system and ensure documents are archived timely and accurately.

Key Accountabilities
Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations for assigned reports as well as reporting best practices.
Responsible for monitoring changes with documentation and processes for assigned regulatory reports and making sure the changes are communicated and updated in appropriate systems.
Analyze potential and actual variances in data and supporting compliance materials and the reasons for each variance.Document corrective actions needed and verbally communicate to appropriate personnel.
Exercise critical thinking and problem solving to continually examine all aspects of reporting operations and propose change procedures to improve and standardize processes of internal and external reporting obligations.
Under guidance of manager and staff attorneys will gather evidence and assist in composing routine correspondence with various regulatory agencies.
Participate in updating and creating documentation used by internal working groups for understanding regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Communicate changes needed to regulatory tracking system and ensure that the changes have been made.
Conduct periodic audits to ensure evidence of compliance with internal policies and external regulatory compliance.
Perform other projects or duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
0-1 years experience in compliance, regulatory, project management, document management, or related areas.
Strong analytical skills and judgement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated skills in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
Ability to work under strict deadlines.
Strong documentation and research skills.
Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in data analysis and report preparation.
Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.

Preparing reports that are complete, accurate, and filed on-time.
Accurate and timely archiving of reporting documents and supporting data.
Documentation and processes for assigned regulatory reports are current.
