Description

An organization in the East of Pittsburgh is in need of a temporary to hire Staff Accountant.

The position is 100% onsite.

Hours are 830am-530pm but are flexible after the training period.

The Staff Accountant would be responsible for the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

Perform full-cycle accounting, including general ledger entries and journal postings

Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly

Monitor and track tax liabilities, including sales and use tax

Process payroll and ensure accurate posting to the general ledger

Manage accounts receivable; accounts payable responsibilities are minimal

Handle complex billing processes and manage client contracts as needed

Lead month-end and year-end close activities

Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory filings

Oversee R& D tax credit documentation and submissions

Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards

Coordinate with subsidiary entities and external stakeholders

Build and maintain relationships with banking partners and investors

Support executive-level reporting and presentations

Requirements

5-7 years of accounting experience, ideally in a standalone role.

Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting processes.

Proven ability to work with complex billing systems and reconcile accounts.

Proficiency in handling payroll and tax tracking responsibilities.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Familiarity with Sage 50 software and related accounting tools.

Expertise in accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.

Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes and prepare financial reports.
