Job Summary:
The Strategic Procurement & Planning Division team is looking for a Senior Data Specialist. This position is located in Mossville, Illinois. As a Senior Data Specialist at Caterpillar, you will own the management of several core US based tools and data platforms from the business side. These are the tools that are needed for Caterpillar employees to be successful in their roles as they help to build a better world. You ensure we have the right business requirements through data collection, collaboration with suppliers and data analytics, ultimately driving stronger impactful decisions.
What You Will Do:
Support the management of the Enterprise Procurement Data Platform (EPDP) and Supply Chain Data Platform (SCDP)
Create and maintain effective data governance policies to ensure the quality and security of data used across the business
Develop, implement and support digital capabilities that are part of Strategic Procurement & Planning Division accountabilities
Collaborate effectively with colleagues, customers, and suppliers at all levels
Demonstrate your advanced project management skills required to collect, compile, assimilate, communicate, and maintain information across multiple projects
Assess and recommend solutions related to procurement and supply chain processes
Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of Strategic Procurement Division initiatives
Act as leader or SME, depending on project, to develop new systems and tools and retire outdated systems and tools as part of strategic roadmap
Support the creation and management of visualizations, documentation and presentations to support data quality processes.
Education requirement:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in or related to Advanced Analytics, computer science, data analytics, engineering, finance, business administration, or statistics.
What skills you will have:
ETL Process Development:
Collaborate with data engineers and architects to optimize data workflows for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Ensure data quality and consistency across cloud and hybrid environments using tools such as AWS, Qlik, Snaplogic, and Power Bi
Communicating Complex Concepts:
Translate complex data models, analytics results, and technical architecture into clear, actionable insights for business and technical stakeholders.
Create visualizations, documentation, and presentations to support ongoing data quality and monitoring providing high quality data to our digital solutions.
Lead cross-functional meetings and workshops to align data initiatives with business goals and improve data literacy.
Cloud Computing & Data Infrastructure:
Build and manage data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms to support advanced analytics and machine learning.
Support cloud-based security, compliance, and monitoring practices to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
Top Candidates will also have:
Familiarity with basic procurement and supply chain principles, procedures, and techniques
Experience and expertise in the following systems: Enterprise Procurement Data Platform (EPDP), Supply Chain Data platform (SCDP), Corporate Logistics Data Base (CLIDB), Quality Data Warehouse (QNET), Supply Chain Data Warehouse (SCDW), Assurance of Supply (ASC), Material Replenishment Collaboration (MRC), Network Planning and Execution (NPE), LOGNET, Enterprise Digital Order Fulfillment (EDOF) Tableau, Demand Visibility Tool (DVT), EPIX, Production Stores Inventory (PSI), Network Planning & Execution (NPE), PROcure
Familiarity in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
Experience with data modeling principles/methods including conceptual, logical, and physical data models including Data Vault modeling
Experience with Data mapping, integration, and transformation to a data warehouse
Demonstrated ability to dig into details and synthesize ideas and solutions

The location for this position is Mossville, IL

This position will require 10% travel.
Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
