Description We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Bethesda, Maryland. In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the real estate and property industry while utilizing your expertise in accounting systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.

Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including vendor payments and customer invoicing.

Prepare and analyze financial statements to support decision-making and compliance.

Utilize accounting software, such as Yardi and ERP systems, to streamline financial operations.

Collaborate with the auditing team to ensure compliance with internal and external financial regulations.

Process payroll using ADP and ensure all payroll-related transactions are accurately recorded.

Oversee expense reporting through tools like Concur to maintain accurate records.

Provide support for month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring all necessary adjustments are completed.

Assist in financial planning and budgeting by providing detailed reports and insights. Requirements - A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the real estate or property industry.

Proficiency in accounting software systems, including Yardi and ERP platforms.

Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Experience with payroll systems, such as ADP, and expense management tools like Concur.

Familiarity with auditing practices and financial compliance standards.

Ability to perform balance sheet account reconciliations and analyze discrepancies.

Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
