Global Engineering Services (GES) is looking for a talented Sr. Construction Project Safety Manager to support a growing contractor safety program. This role will further develop, maintain and oversee the global construction safety contractor management program. This role will be part of the GES Construction, Operations Engineering, and Startup teams with a direct relationship with the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team. The successful candidate will work closely with construction, procurement, legal, execution leaders, and counterparts throughout the world. This manager role will be a key stakeholder in the further development and implementation of Amazon's GES Contractor Safety Management Program including, among other responsibilities, management and tracking of the Contractor Pre-qualification Process, monitoring and documenting safety metrics and KPIs across all NA GES projects, management of 3rd-party Safety Observers to ensure adherence with key contract language and establishing expectations and tools for Project Managers to validate compliance with established contract agreements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Be the tactical Point of Contact responsible for assisting the GES Contractor Safety program.
· Be accountable for consistent and accurate execution of the Amazon Contractor Pre-qualification Process.
· Assist with the development and communication of clear contractor safety roles and responsibilities to support the construction sites for Project Managers, WHS, Operations Engineering, Startup and other stakeholders.
· Support the Real-estate legal team and Category Procurement team in maintaining current safety requirements in relevant contracts.
· Support daily execution of safety audit program and engage 3rd-party companies to complete construction safety audits and to meet safety documentation requirements.
· Develop and distribute WHS audit scorecards.
· Support construction project managers in follow-up of serious incidents and near misses.
· Ad-hoc site visits to perform observations, support construction managers or participate in other site-based activities.
· Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly key performance indicator reports and records.
· Support Project Manager training and processes related to contract oversight from a safety perspective.
· Engage with WHS and Launch managers to provide field support, as needed.
· Be a key stakeholder in the development of the WHS Construction Safety Management and Contract Risk Management (CRM) standards.
· Stay attuned to changing regulations and industry trends that may influence the Amazon Business units using up to date safety technologies.
· Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly business updates for diverse leadership teams.
· Support project managers to establish and maintain effective WHS work relationships with developers, general contractors and subcontractors.
· Travel nationally up to 50% of the time.
Key job responsibilities
Utilize advanced technological advancements to identify and track safety risk. Managing escalations in support of Legal, WHS, and other Leadership teams. Utilize 3P resources to evaluate site safety conditions and compliance with contractual requirements.

Basic Qualifications
7+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelor's degree
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
