Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This hybrid role requires three days per week onsite at our Sun Valley office and two days working remotely. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a mid-level role with hands-on responsibility for the full accounting close process and financial statement preparation.
The Senior Accountant will apply advanced accounting principles to analyze complex financial data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance through strong accounting controls. The position requires a self-motivated professional with excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills. Prior experience in mid-to-large sized, distributed corporate environments is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and manage the full monthly accounting close process
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
Perform variance analysis and support fee calculations and payments
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entries and accruals
Oversee fixed assets, accounts payable/receivable, and procurement processes
Extract, manage, and analyze large data sets to support financial operations
Lead cross-functional projects and identify process improvement opportunities
Mentor and train junior accounting team members
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of progressive accounting experience; 3+ years in a mid-level role
Strong working knowledge of financial statement preparation and month-end close
Experience with complex accounting processes and variance analysis
Proven ability to lead teams and train staff
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data management)
Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned and may vary by location.
Prepares highly complex journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs and preparing audit train support for the journal entries.
Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals.
Collects and analyzes financial data and prepares monthly combined financial statements and reports. Performs additional analysis for explanatory text required for reports and statement. Coordinates preparation of monthly financial package and reviews for accuracy.
Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports.
Assists with the preparation of year-end closings. Prepares annual long-term and short-term financial statements in compliance with accounting guidelines and U.S. GAAP. Assists in the preparation of working papers for annual audit.
Provides expertise and guidance to other Finance personnel for proper internal and external financial accounting procedures and their application.
Assists with the preparation of annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans for assigned areas. Coordinates preparation of monthly combining entries to combine financial results.
Prepares quarterly consolidation report for consolidation.
Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
Prepares highly advanced financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
Assists departmental managers/directors with supervision of other clerical and professional staff of the department as required.

A. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Accounting or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
Experience: Five years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement).

Expert accounting, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable knowledge may be required.

Normal setting for this job is: office setting
The expected base pay range for this office/on-site position is $100,000 - $105,000. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.

This role is designated as Hybrid which will follow the WM Office Policy requiring in office work and an option to work remotely two days per week.
