Hiring for a Lead Manufacturing Engineer in Chicopee!

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer Site Lead is responsible for managing projects and providing direction to other Manufacturing Engineers to ensure the achievement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role involves budget control, tooling design, and implementation to support and enhance production output.

Responsibilities

Manage projects and provide direction to Manufacturing Engineers to achieve all safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

Oversee budget controls, tooling design, and implementation to benefit production output.

Promote teamwork, respect, accountability, and continuous improvement among resources.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and collaborate with the Safety Compliance Manager to enhance programs.

Ensure compliance with quality standards and work with Quality and Engineering Departments to improve procedures.

Ensure on-time delivery to internal and external customers.

Assess manufacturing processes for cost-effectiveness and feasibility, implementing recommendations to enhance efficiency.

Lead and mentor teams to achieve production results, providing guidance to other engineers.

Implement lean manufacturing concepts such as Kanban and 5S for manufacturing improvements.

Design tools and dies in Solid Edge CAD software for sheet metal parts manufacturing, optimizing designs for efficiency.

Evaluate and redesign existing tools and dies for improved performance, providing retraining as needed.

Design automation systems, selecting electrical controls and PLC programs.

Perform theoretical analysis and simulation of processes, value stream mapping, and FMEA.

Create project plans and presentations for Manufacturing Engineering Projects.

Write specifications for new equipment and qualification plans for final acceptance.

Install and commission tools, dies, and equipment..

Master's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred

8+ years of related work experience

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, and Word

Ability to interpret prints including GD&T

Understanding of Engineering Principles

Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Work Environment

The work environment involves being part of a tier 1 international supplier known for its global reputation for quality. This role may require travel, both domestic and international, and participation in audits to ensure compliance with ISO and OSHA regulations. The position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and innovative setting, emphasizing teamwork and continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
