Overview
Bowhead Information Technologies Service is seeking a mission-focused Systems Engineer to provide critical support to United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) training and simulation efforts.
This position will support SATCOM qualification training through development and review of instructional materials and mission-based simulator support. The engineer will collaborate with headquarters and squadrons to create and enhance courseware, integrate simulator capabilities, and ensure effective delivery of training aligned with SATCOM operational standards. The role combines technical depth with instructional design and classroom augmentation.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
Supporting SATCOM qualification training by providing engineering input to classroom instruction and mission-based simulator scenarios.
Developing and reviewing SATCOM-related courseware and training materials required by USSPACECOM headquarters and squadrons.
Applying Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies to develop effective and engaging lesson plans and training objectives.
Providing subject matter expertise in satellite communications across multiple domains.
Supporting SATCOM simulator operations, integration, and troubleshooting to maintain realistic mission training environments.
Coordinating technical requirements and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure training aligns with real-world operational needs.
Enhancing training effectiveness through participation in curriculum reviews, technical assessments, and scenario development.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience.
Hands-on experience in one or more SATCOM domains.
Proficiency with SATCOM planning tools and network monitoring systems.
Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, SATCOM waveforms, and link analysis.
Experience in technical collaboration with government, contractor, and military personnel for training and system integration.
Familiarity with Instructional Systems Design (ISD) and curriculum development methodologies.
Desired:
Experience with multi-band SATCOM operations and joint mission integration.
Involvement in SATCOM-related exercises or live training events.
Knowledge of military SATCOM terminals, ground infrastructure, and tactical operations.
Experience working with SATCOM stakeholders to coordinate mission planning and resource allocation.

Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret level with SCI eligibility. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
