Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an Engineer Manufacturing - Level 2 to join our Launch Vehicles Thermal Protection System Team in Chandler, AZ. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

Role and Impact:

Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

Familiarity with creating MES work instructions and working with CAD & NX.

May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.

Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations..

Basic Qualifications for Manufacturing Engineer:

Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of experience in manufacturing/production

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship as a prerequisite

Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering

An active DoD Security Clearance of Secret or above

Experience authoring & reviewing work instructions (MES & Solumina)

Understanding of 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles

Use of business intelligence tools (IBM Cognos & Tableau)

Ability to review engineering drawings/models for accuracy & manufacturability

Experience reviewing & interpreting 3D models via computer-aided design (CAD) tools (Siemens NX & Teamcenter Visualization)

Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) & Product Lifecyle Management (PLM) (Costpoint & Teamcenter)

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. PowerPoint & Excel)

CNC Routing Creation

We work a 9/80 schedule (9 hours per day Mon-Thurs, 8 hours every other Friday with the alternate Friday off)

Salary Range: $70,200.00 - $105,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
